Eric Ramirez
Director of Electronic Government
El Salvador

As Director of Electronic Government with the Government of El Salvador, Mr Ramirez coordinates efforts to apply ICT solutions to improve public services. This includes identifying gaps and build capacity across government agencies to foster cooperation and information sharing, propose and enforce standards to protect, validate and publish government data.

He has over fifteen years of international experience managing information systems and operations for nonprofit and government sectors including higher education and public health. His experience spawns a variety of projects in different parts of the world including Australia, Africa, South, Central and North America.

His currently supporting El Salvador’s efforts to build a new culture and portfolio of user centered public services. Some of the projects currently being worked on are a new Citizen ID strategy, government data exchange layer and Open Data regulations.

Mr. Ramirez holds a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia and a Masters of Science in Telecommunications degree from DePaul University, Chicago USA.
